ISLP Cambodia ' 12 Day 1 to Day 3
Chum reap suor ! (Hello in khmer) Time for me to blog about my trip right? My first ever overseas trip. My first ride on plane. My first, away from my family for 2 weeks. And it happen too fast. I wished, i could return back to Siem Reap, Cambodia :P
Day 1;
Arrived changi airport @ 12pm when i'm supposed to report at 12.30pm. Probably too excited to leave sunny singapore uh, HAHA. Pretty upset that dad unable to send me off due to his work commitment. Eventhough, told him months before to take off on 13 March, it doesn't help. My dad put in 100% to his work, eventhough he have work leave, he didn't even apply. Even if he's sick, he still go to work. Probably i have that genes from him la right? Workaholic. Anyway, except dad, the rest of my family member send me off.
And really big thank you for my two girlfriends coming down to send me off too. Sakinah, change her working shift to evening shift so that she's able to send me off. A month plus i last meet her, not forgetting she passed black bracelet with my name craved on it, that she bought from Batam. And great surprise from Herdawatie when she came down from school during her two hours break to send me off. Both of us hug as if, not giving each other to let go. And the heart sticker you paste on my phone is still here. Really grateful, to have girlfriend whom is there for you to last see them before going off. Aww.
Since it's my first, i don't know how many time i took pictures showing my passport and air ticket.
Yes, two groups of RP-ians going to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Group pictures before entering the Departure Hall.
Since it's my first ride on plane, definitely i feel scared, nervous, anxious and etc. Thank god i got Jian Xing sitting beside me. He's experienced kid who took plane countless time. Every minute, when i keep quiet, he will asked if i'm okay or not. Keep offering me sweets to eat so i won't vomit in the plane. Sweet of him right? I'm lucky. BYE - BYE Singapore.
And finally 3.50pm, HELLO Cambodia. 1 hour 45 min journey not that long, cos i spent 3/4 journey sleeping. HAHA.
Our homestay NOT bad okay! Modern kind of house in cambodia. 4 rooms, 1 common room, 3 toilets, seated toilet. Not bad right? It's way out of my imagination. I thought the homestay looks like pulau ubin kampung that we have camp before last dec. Lucky not. Since there's 3 rooms in the second floor, girls got to conquer the room *of course* My roommates, Nat, Vinia and Joanna. And we got ourselves the "master bedroom" with toilet. Good right, toilet so near. No need to walk out from the room. Yahh, that's the girls toilet. Light out at 11pm. We have difficulties of sleeping, because we sleep inside the mosquito net and it's so so so HOT. Can't even feel the air from the fan. But then, somehow 4 of us fell a sleep with sweat.
Day 2;
Breakfast at 7am. Girls woke up extra early, as early as 4am to bathe. While waiting for breakfast to arrive, posed infront of the camera as always. Then at 9am, first visit to the school. Words can't describe how i first saw them infront of the school gate. Let's pictures tell the story alright?
Play "ice breaker" games with the kids so somehow they will slowly attached to us. After that, went to the town area, to buy things needed for workshop we conducting with the kids. That's all for our day 2.
Day 3;
All of us groom in our white ISLP shirt. Conducting english workshop that day, and i'm one of the team member for english. Thank god, i got myself 2nd grade class. Seriously my english very very bad. Just take a look at my blog post, see there's might be grammar or vocabulary error that i can't see. Took over the class, taught them alphabets, numbers, shapes and colouring.
After lunch, a group of us decided to tour around the homestay neighbourhood thought the weather super hot. But then again, why not right? Since we have free time and faci gave us green light to go out. You should treasure what you have right now. Their living condition really at poor condition. I can't imagine myself living in that kind of state. Let me show you pictures i took okay.
Right after dinner, went to the Night Market. Awesome market, which you can really bargain till it's half price or even more. Unable to take picture of the place cos my camera really suckish in taking night shot plus i don't like to you flash. Since time permit, we tried foot massage for 15 mins which is only US $1. Cheap right? Their massage really not bad la, first start, very tickish.
As usual, Light out at 11pm.
Alright, shall stop till Day 3. Shall continue soon, okay! HAHAHA. In meanwhile, take a look at my facebook. pictures for Day 4 and Day 5 currently uploading. <3 <3
